"Acento, an anthology of Puerto Rican poetry, is a musical poetry recording project. We have recruited, in partnership with Sony Music Latin, twenty-two artists of the caliber of Danny Rivera, Kany García, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Idalia Pérez, Garay, Ana Teresa Toro, Celimar Adames, iLe, and Victor Manuelle, among others, to lend their voices and talents to a selection of fundamental Puerto Rican poets. The musical composition has been supervised by Edgar Abraham, a three-time Latin Grammy winner, and Johanny Navarro, who has numerous achievements including an artistic residency at the American Lyric Theater in New York.
Our greatest inspiration for this album has been the poetry notebooks published since 1960 by the Publications and Recordings Program 'Editorial ICP.' These notebooks, in addition to being an invaluable resource for our poets, also showcase the great illustrators of Puerto Rico from that era."
